Emma C. Burch

Emma Burch earned her undergraduate degree in English graduating magna cum laude, and her juris doctor from the University of Georgia. After graduating law school, she worked as a juvenile public defender in the Atlantic Circuit and was a member of the nationally recognized organization, Gideon’s Promise, whose mission is to provide equal representation for indigent defendants. Emma then worked as the staff attorney to Judge Ellen McElyea in Cherokee County Superior Court. Emma became a team member of the Blue Ridge Drug Accountability Court, started and spearheaded by Judge McElyea. She was active in the Blue Ridge Bar Association and published two articles for the Cherokee Tribune.

Emma joined Downey and Cleveland, LLP, as an associate in May 2017. She primarily defends individuals, businesses, and companies in suits involving automobile accidents, premises liability, and first party claims. Emma is admitted to practice in Georgia state and superior courts, as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals.
