Amy Harper is an associate attorney with Downey & Cleveland, LLP in Marietta, Georgia.
Amy’s litigation practice focuses on representing defendants in personal injury and property damage cases. She also assists in the defense of medical malpractice and premises liability litigation.
In addition, Amy’s field of practice encompasses mental health law. She regularly represents hospitals seeking treatment for mentally ill patients through the involuntary commitment process.
Since joining the firm in 2022, Amy has served as lead counsel in numerous depositions, motions hearings, settlement negotiations, and magistrate trials, securing favorable outcomes for her clients. She has also assisted in the preparation of appellate briefs filed with the Georgia Court of Appeals.
In law school, Amy was the managing editor of the Journal of the Legal recognized, and was a semifinalist in the Campbell Moot Court Competition and a quarter-finalist in the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition.
Amy is the published author of The Florida Manatee, A Brief Legal History.
