Robert A. DeMetz, Jr. is an associate attorney at Downey & Cleveland, LLP in Marietta, Georgia.
Rob concentrates his trial practice in the areas of personal injury and premises liability, and he has significant appellate experience as well.
Rob has more than 25 years of litigation experience.
He has served as lead counsel in more than 50 jury trials, achieving favorable outcomes for his clients. He also has significant appellate experience, having represented clients before the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia.
Starting with the firm as an associate in 1998, Rob returned home to Downey & Cleveland in 2023 after working for more than two decades as senior staff counsel for major insurance companies and for a plaintiff’s firm.
In those roles, he was responsible for new case screening, intake, pre-suit demands, negotiations, and litigation in auto, premises, dog bite, trucking, and other personal injury cases.
His previous experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants provides him with valuable insight in crafting litigation strategy.
